Model Diana Dee poses in an old railroad car, a cupola caboose, located in the middle of Split Rail Golf Course in Aledo, Texas. I called the golf course and got permission to photograph in this great railcar. Thankfully, the golf course loaned us a golf cart to get to the location.

Diana Dee is in the seating area of the cupola caboose . As you can imagine, since the seats have 360 degrees of visibility, so there was plenty of natural light spilling in from around Diana Dee.

Tonight I stopped on the way home, and spent 30-45 minutes just photographing the gorgeous sky. After the sun was down, I took out my iPhone, turned on the flashlight app, and took my first try at writing with light. The red is when my thumb is over the flash.

After work tonight, I photographed Michelle in Weatherford outside a furniture store. The women closing up said we could take photos, so we started at the reindeer and worked our way out to the horse covered with Christmas lights next to the Fort Worth Ave.

Taken with a Rokinon 8mm, ISO 500, 8 seconds, aperture ~ 8 (I forget, it’s a manual lens and not recorded in the exif).

Heatherly at this weekend’s photo session in Arlington.

Sometimes I open an image in Photoshop, and just start playing around. I try one thing, then another, and then an hour later I am so far down the road, I don’t know how I got there. :) Well, this is one of those images, where I just kept trying different things to see what it would look like. If I didn’t like it, I would ‘undo’, and try something else. So take this for what it is, me experimenting.

Heatherly was actually wearing a blue dress in this photo, with her right hand (covered with the long blue sleeve) was resting against her shoulder. So, the first thing I did was edit out the arm, and added back hair to fill out the right side of the image. Then, I used the cloning tool to remove the blue dress that was hanging off her right shoulder and across her back, and to create a bare arm and extend the bare back.

Next, was the task of covering up the bra strap with the cloning tool to make this look like an implied image. As you can see, I didn’t do well enough on this to completely hide where the strap was. After that, it was just messing around with different tones and hues, and adding some grain.

Originally, this photo was shot against a green wall with a beauty dish.
